Apinayé art: a case study in a Brazilian indigenous school

The Apinayé are a Brazilian indigenous ethnic group that live in transition zone between the Cerrado and Amazon. This study primarily aims to understand meaning art holds for students at Indigenous School. We used an ethnographic research methodology, while also observing classes distributing open questionnaires these students. results showed arts produced by people mostly refer body paintings cultural artifacts they produce, such as necklaces made of beads, fans, coufo, babassu coconuts, among others. In addition, characterize culture something is extremely significant their lives, represents not only reality but history, struggle, resistance.
